[ooc: Imagine this page as a movie, the first three panels are a different time point than the last two, but both are viewable. The narration isn't part of it, but all the dialogue is. In case you don't feel like clicking a million times to get to a readable size image the dialogue is:
Greg: You're a shapeshifter?
Teddy: Yeah. So...are we cool or--
Greg: Are you kidding, Teddy? We're unstoppable.
And the guy on the right in the last two panels should be recognizable as Teddy with his hair shifted. Teddy doesn't know it was posted yet.]

So the Welcome Center is now officially out of coffee, but we're still open to give directions, try to explain, and uh...welcome you. Maybe Euphie should be making all these announcements. Anyway, if you've just arrived you probably have questions, so look out for us--we're located off the square where the fountain is.

[Teddy is holding up a pair of jeans and frowning. Skinny jeans. Very skinny jeans.]
Yeah...I think I would have to shift to fit into these. At least I didn't take the tags off these scarves. Why would anyone ever need this many scarves? Most of them aren't even the warm kind. And I don't wear glasses.
[Teddy holds up a pair of black framed hipster glasses.]
Uh, Rapunzel, I hope I didn't pick out anything as bad for you as I did for myself. I've never actually been tempted to give anyone a style makeover before.

There's something seriously wrong with my powers. And not that they're missing, exactly. It's just that they're...really not right. Which is actually freaking me out more than if I'd just traded with Billy or turned human for the day or something. So...yeah. I can't grow wings or armor or turn green or anything, I can just become other people. But in a weird way, not in the normal way.
[ooc: So...my power was out as of an hour ago. I'm hanging around campus and about to go check if it's back and if not I may not be able to reply until tomorrow :(]

Has anyone seen Billy? Is there some kind of curse today?
[Private to Billy]
You're not avoiding me or anything right? It's just that I woke up on the couch and then I had to go buy milk because ours was spoiled and then I just ended up getting coffee out and when I went home you weren't there and then I checked the bookstore but you weren't there either and I had to leave for my volunteer shift.
[ooc: He's suffering from the accidentally missing version of the curse.]

I really like snow. And I guess part of that is due to the fact that I've never had to shovel a sidewalk and I don't drive yet, but I don't care if it's nearly August--I am going to embrace the moment and go build weird snow creatures Calvin and Hobbes style. I never really had the opportunity to do winter sports like skiing or snowboarding but I am all about snowball fights.
It does kind of suck for the people who haven't been here long enough to have winter clothes.
[ooc: backdated to afternoon.]

Based on past experience all the visitors will be gone tomorrow...what I wonder is whether that means things are going to be back to normal or if we'll end up somewhere weird again. We've done aliens, dinosaurs, pirates, zombies, elves, pirates, and mechas, but I feel like we're missing something, like monkeys or ninjas.
[ooc: No spoilers for major events past Secret Invasion, but other than that anything goes.]

First space, then dinosaurs! This is the best ever.
Okay, I know I've been in space before, but it doesn't count if I can't remember. Also, I already know a dinosaur but--this is still really cool.
I wonder what the catch is--it looks like we're supposed to be doing work for the deities. I'm not really sure what I'd ask for if I found something.

[The young vicomte de Turenne, Théodore de La Tour d'Auvergne, has gotten himself lost in a hedge maze. It is supposed to be amusing to get oneself lost for a while--or at least he assumes it is supposed to be, or there would not be one on the grounds of Versailles. Unfortunately, it is taking him far longer than he intended to find the exist, and the ball should be starting soon. He has no idea that he's broadcasting to the Network, and is therefore engaged in muttering to himself.]
Oh, damn. I know I've seen this nymph before. Unless--was it dancing like that before? I could have sworn...perhaps this is a different one.
[There are some rustling noises, as Théodore attempts, and fails, to peek through a section of shrubbery.]
I'm not lost. I'm not.
[ooc: Teddy will only respond to voice comments--but he'll assume you're lost in the hedge maze with him, just out of sight, and ignore absolutely anything to the contrary. Anyone who wants to encounter him in the maze is more then welcome as long as A) they don't help him get out, and B) they eventually move on, so that he can encounter Billy.]

So unfortunately we don't have Kate around to make sure we can pass the dress code with flying colors, or maybe lack of colors because it's white tie, but it might be fun to go to the big Valentine's party. If you don't feel like it, I have other ideas.

You know what I think? I think it's time to add a few updates to the City Guide. You know what else I think? I am probably not at all the right person to do anything about that. But, it got me thinking about what kinds of thing people would want to add if they could--everything from serious suggestions to more humorous ones. So, what would you want to tell newcomers?
Like...put your device away when you're not using it. In a drawer. Possibly in another room, or it will randomly turn on during really awkward moments.

Things have been relatively quiet lately. 'Relatively' is clearly the key word here, but still, it's been nice. Of course, I wasn't hit with any of the memory loss that's been going around, so I consider myself lucky. I don't really mind things like having to talk in haiku's as long as my mind and actions aren't affected. Well, I guess talking is an action, but you know what I mean.
Tomorrow I'll have been in the City for five months. It's not a very long time here compared to some, but it's five months without school, five months without Eli, Kate, Vision and Cassie, five months without fighting a single supervillain--although there probably are some in the City and it's not like I've lacked fights. It's also five months without really having to hide anything from people. Which is me leading up to mentioning I'm an alien. It's not really an important thing about me, because I grew up on Earth, but if you've seen me around, well, knowing that might help explain some stuff. Like the turning green and armored and growing wings. Stuff like that.
